About Us
- ABOUT US:
As we step into 2026, we're excited to offer a program where creativity and discipline converge, nurturing each gymnast's talent to its fullest. Ballet, integral to our training, ensures our gymnasts develop strong technical foundations.
OUR MISSION:
At Elancé, our mission is to ignite a passion for movement and dance. We focus on enhancing key skills such as coordination, strength, flexibility, and confidence. In our nurturing environment, supported by top-tier resources and expertise, every gymnast is empowered to flourish.
OUR TEAM:
Leading our academy is Monéne von Wielligh, a former high-performance national rhythmic gymnast with extensive training in RAD and Cecchetti ballet, contemporary, and modern dance. Her qualifications include a BEd from the University of Stellenbosch, a RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies, and certifications in rhythmic gymnastics coaching and judging.
OUR CLASSES:
Rhythmic Gymnastics: This Olympic sport is a dynamic blend of ballet, gymnastics, dance, and apparatus manipulation, involving ribbon, hoop, ball, clubs, and rope. It's a discipline celebrated for its elegance and athleticism, with competitions ranging from local to the world stage, including the World Championships and the Olympics.
Ballet: Our Ballet classes are not just an add-on; they are a crucial part of training for any aspiring top rhythmic gymnast. These classes focus on posture, alignment, and balance, vital for enhancing gymnastic performance. Ballet is the key to mastering the precision, grace, and fluidity that define world-class rhythmic gymnasts.
